BearCountryBlooms strives to provide the freshest flowers, vegetables and baked goods to our customers at farmer’s markets and at our farm stand. We use organic practices for all our produce. Our breads are baked using our own pumpkin and zucchini and live sourdough cultures. Our signature salsas includes our homegrown organic tomatoes, peppers, garlic and onions. We are proud of the fact that we don’t use any pesticides or herbicides on our plants/shrubs/trees. Hundreds of types of plants grow in our one acre lot located 45 minutes west of the Twin Cities. Subscribe to our flower/fruit/veggie email list below to get reminders of market days and pop up farm stand hours.
So many things happened in BearCountry this year! We had a hugely successful 2023 growing season despite the drought and enjoyed connecting with new customers at the Carver Farmer’s Market and our loyal customers at Bongard’s Farmer’s Market (note the NEW LOCATION in town:640 Railroad Dr, Norwood Young America, MN 55368) . The fence we added in 2022 made a huge difference in how early we had produce. We baked over 200 loaves of bread using pumpkin and zucchini from the 2022 season. Our salsa production skyrocketed thanks to a bumper tomato crop. I lost count at 400 pounds of tomatoes harvested. Our first season of bouquet subscriptions wrapped up mid September with a U-Pick event in our garden. It was so much fun I’m adding some special events that will bring people into our growing space more often. Sign up for our newsletter so you don’t miss these limited opportunities. We couldn’t do what we do without your continued support. Thank you for loving our organic veggies, salsa, breads and flowers as much as we do!
CONTINUING IN 2024
We will be continuing to offer FLOWER SUBSCRIPTIONS in 2024 so our customers can enjoy weekly or bi-weekly flowers all summer long without the need to make time for a mid-week run to a farmer’s market. We will continue to sell at Bongards and from our driveway stand when we have extra flowers, but if you crave fresh local flowers a subscription is the way to go. We are exited to continue our partnership with Logan Pass Coffeehouse in Cologne as one of our pick up locations on FRIDAYS all summer. Yes, you heard that right. We’ve heard from so many people that they want flowers to enjoy when they are home on the weekends or to take with when they visit someone. Click the link above to choose from a weekly subscription or a bi-weekly subscription and then share with your friends and family who are probably already asking what you want for Christmas. Quantities are limited!
2024 RECAP & LOOKING FORWARD TO 2025
2024 was a whirlwind of flowers and flour. When we added sourdough to our menu we had no idea it would take off like it did. We were kept very busy juggling it all while still maintaining our garden and dedication to our flower customers. By the grace of God we had a wet June which really helped get the flowers off to a great start while I was busy baking. Highlights of the 2024 season: Meeting so many new customers at the new Bongard’s location, finding new flavors of sourdough muffins to bring to the market, the introduction of our new farm stand and offering weekly pick up (and now delivery!) of our sourdough on Fridays once the market ended.
In 2025 we are looking forward to returning to the farmer’s market* in the Alli B’s parking lot. The Bongard’s market has been renamed The Heritage Market. Summer flower subscriptions are live on the website (scroll back up the page for the links) and often sell out so sign up for yours before they are gone. I’ll be ordering seeds for our flower farm in November and our seedlings will be started in February by our supplier in Hutchinson. Loon Organics grows the healthiest organic seedlings I could ask for and is a big part of our success as market farmers. Bonus - we can sell organic salsa for much less than a grocery store does!
As always we are so grateful for your support of our homemade and handmade life here at BearCountryBlooms! THANK YOU!
