The Olympic Hat Knitting Pattern
The Olympic Hat Knitting Pattern
The Olympic Knit Hat is a beginner friendly knitting PATTERN. You will not get a finished hat when you purchase this listing. You are purchasing a DIGITAL DOWNLOAD of the instructions. The pattern is formatted to fit on two pages, but those two pages are FILLED with helpful information to make your knitting experience as smooth as possible.
You'll need 140-175 yards of worsted weight yarn. The thickness of 4 weight yarn varies dramatically so I share tips on finding the wraps per inch before you take the time to swatch. Websites are provided to shed light on this topic if wraps per inch (wpi) is new to you.
There are 4 different decreases included so you can adjust your cast on amount to fit teens to x-large adult heads.
You'll need 5mm (US8) needles OR 4.5 (US7) 16 inch circular needles depending on gauge. The crown is completed using Double Pointed Needles.
If you have never connected a double brim hat never fear! I included a photo tutorial and a suggested video to watch to see how it's done.
As far as stitches go, all you need to know is how to knit and purl. The brim has a subtle texture that looks great on men and women.
